"I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing!"
Luke 12: 49
Our mission as a parish is to invite all to grow in holiness, forming one strong family united in Christ. We are committed to evangelization through sacred liturgy, apostolic outreach, service to our community and vigorous Catholic education.
Lenten Speaker Series
Pope Benedict XVI said in 2010 that "Lent is like a long 'retreat' during which we can turn back into ourselves and listen to the voice of God, in order to defeat the temptations of the Evil One. It is a period of spiritual 'combat' which we must experience alongside Jesus, not with pride and presumption, but using the arms of faith: prayer, listening to the word of God and penance. In this way we will be able to celebrate Easter in truth, ready to renew the promises of our Baptism."
The season of Lent offers us an opportunity to grow in Christian maturity. One way in which to do that, as a family, is to plan to attend our Lenten Soup Supper and Speaker Series. We have an excellent lineup of great speakers coming, the tradition of Stations of the Cross each Friday at 7:30pm, and of course there's the delicious soup!
There is no cost and no need to RSVP. All are welcome to attend. There will be a special program for the younger children, ages 3-12. Call Alison in the Parish Center with questions.
